Distinguish between real and fake oil filters
Oil filter is one of the most commonly used automotive consumables, and it needs to be replaced along with the engine oil every few thousand kilometers. Despite its low price, this small part plays a crucial role in the normal operation of the engine. If it malfunctions, it can lead to increased fuel consumption and intensified engine wear at best, or even engine failure and heavy losses at worst.
Genuine products:
- The factory logo on the surface of the filter is clearly printed with good-quality paint, which is pure white.
- It is equipped with a bypass valve to ensure a sufficient supply of engine oil under any conditions.
- The complex anti-backflow design ensures that the filter retains the necessary engine oil for the next startup, reducing wear during cold starts (all genuine filters have this function).
- It is packaged with a protective bag before leaving the factory. There is lubricating grease at the interface, the sealing material of the gasket is of good quality, and the rubber parts are well-shaped.
- The filter paper is specially developed according to the type of engine oil used, with a moderate density to ensure the filtering performance of the engine oil.
- The metal oil passage net in the filter element has a standard shape to ensure a sufficient flow of engine oil.
Counterfeit products:
- The font on the surface of the filter is blurred or not clear enough, and the paint on the font is of poor quality and thin.
- There is no bypass valve. Once the filter is clogged, the engine will not be able to obtain sufficient engine oil lubrication.
- It does not have the function of suppressing engine oil backflow after the engine is turned off, resulting in greater engine wear during cold starts.
- The sealing material of the gasket is of poor quality, which may cause engine oil leakage under high temperature and high pressure, and even lead to a fire.
- The filter paper material is inconsistent, making it difficult to achieve the intended filtering effect.
- The metal oil passage net is roughly made, making it difficult to ensure a sufficient flow of engine oil.
